Cumbria Flood Appeal 2015

The town of Keswick from Latrigg
In 2014 I wrote two posts about my favourite two weeks of the summer. Each year I visit Keswick in the Lake District for the Christian convention held there. Having been fourteen times, Keswick is my family’s home from home and we are incredibly attached to the town. So when we saw on the news that Keswick was suffering from severe flooding, my heart broke for the community that welcomes over 9,000 people during the convention. Then Mum and I watched the video below.

Cumbrian Floods 06/12/15 – Aerial Video – A66, Keswick, Cockermouth – Storm Desmond 2015 – Adamedia Ltd from Adamedia on Vimeo.

The video shows just how much the town has been affected by the flooding. Seeing the Pencil Museum flooded and then the field where we camp under water, broke my heart. I cannot imagine what the people living in Keswick are going through but I do want to do something to help them.

That’s why I’ve been tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming and now blogging about what has happened in Cumbria. I’ve already donated Cumbria Flood Appeal 2015 and I want to encourage everyone else to do the same.

Christmas is supposed to be about giving so give a little extra to the people of Cumbria this year. Yes, you might have to give up some of your festive extras for it. But is that extra box of Roses really worth it? Give a little extra for 2015 to try and help Cumbria reclaim a little bit of Christmas too.
